About Jeff
Born and raised in Joliet IL, Jeff grew up listening to a wide range of musical styles. From Rock and Country, soul and gospel, to Jazz and Orchestral. The self-taught multi-instrumentalist started his professional career as a club drummer/singer in the 1980's playing with Chicago's All Night Newsboys. "The Boys and I played five nights a week for about six years or so. we travelled around the midwest playing rock clubs, frat parties, and state fairs. We had serious fun"!
Around this time Jeff's song-writing started attracting attention. He (and his future wife Lisa Camp Boyle) wrote two songs for CBS and Arista records, and he was hired as a staff composer at the Chicago jingle house Com/track. Since then Boyle, and his partner Joel Raney have written over one thousand commercial music tracks for clients such as McDonalds, Disney, Boeing, Coors Light, Bud Light, and Toyota.
Boyle's first 4 albums "Something To Believe In" 1995 , "Bubba" 1999, "Three" 2001, and "Dog Named Zero" 2004 are filled with fiery performances and melodies from a great cast of characters including- guitarists Phil Miller and Bill Rupert, Cheap Trick's Jon Brandt and Bun E. Carlos, Jazz trumpeter Orbert Davis, and Hammond B-3 great Steve Bassett. But what holds the songs together are the lyrics. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad and funny. There's always a good story to be heard.
"Downtown" Boyle's newest offering may be his best. The song "Edison Watched T.V" lets you be a fly on the wall during a party of his "old dead heroes". On the fifth cut "Lisa and Me" (written for Lisa for her birthday), Boyle runs down a list of other things that go well together.
